ONLINE & IN-PERSON ANXIETY THERAPY IN HOUSTON, TEXAS

Therapy for Over-functioning and Anxiety

For those who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, or the constant pressure to manage everything for everyone. If you’re stuck in survival mode and struggling to slow down, you’re not alone.

Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and create space to breathe.

You don’t have to hold it all together.

Overfunctioning and anxiety often go hand-in-hand, leaving you stuck in a cycle of doing, fixing, and managing while feeling disconnected from your own needs.

In this space, we’ll explore what’s driving that pressure, where it comes from, and how to shift it, without losing your sense of purpose or identity. Therapy can help you untangle the perfectionism, people-pleasing, and old beliefs keeping you stuck, so you can move toward a life that feels more grounded, calm, and authentic. You don’t have to keep doing it all on your own, and you don’t have to earn rest.

TEXAS THERAPIST FOR ANXIETY

Feel more grounded, in and out of therapy.

If you’re used to overthinking, overdoing, and carrying the weight of everything, I see you. Anxiety often shows up as constant tension, irritability, or the inability to rest.

I use a blend of psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you understand where your patterns come from and how to shift them.

I also incorporate somatic and grounding techniques you can use outside of therapy, so you’re not just talking about what’s hard, but actually feeling more steady in your body and daily life.

Together, we’ll explore the emotional and relational roots of your anxiety while building tools to regulate in the moment.

The goal isn’t to get rid of all anxiety, it’s to help you respond to it with more clarity, compassion, and choice.

“Anxiety is the handmaiden of creativity”

— T. S. Eliot

Step back from overfunctioning and into clarity.

In our work together, we’ll start with an intake session to understand what’s bringing you in and how anxiety is showing up in your life.

We’ll explore the fears behind your anxiety, the roles you’ve had to play, and the patterns keeping you stuck. From there, we’ll begin to gently untangle what no longer serves you and create room for healing, self-trust, and rest.

Answers for the Overwhelmed Mind

Wondering if this type of therapy is right for you?

This section answers common questions about anxiety, overfunctioning, and what to expect in our work together—so you can move forward with more clarity and confidence.

  • I specialize in helping adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, or the pressure to constantly show up for others. I bring an integrative approach to uncovering what’s driving your anxiety—not just managing symptoms, but understanding the “why” beneath them. We’ll also use somatic tools and grounding techniques you can carry into everyday life, so you’re not just processing in session—you’re learning how to care for yourself in real time.

Therapy with me is collaborative and flexible. We’ll create a treatment plan together, focused on your goals and needs. You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. If you’re ready to stop running on empty and start feeling more grounded in your own life, I’m here to support you.

  • Yes. High-functioning anxiety is often invisible to others but deeply exhausting to live with. Therapy can help you understand the roots of your anxiety, learn how to regulate it, and build a healthier relationship with yourself.

  • That’s completely valid—and therapy with me can still be a helpful space for you. I also work with clients experiencing panic attacks and OCD-related symptoms. We’ll look at the thoughts, patterns, and fears driving those experiences, and I’ll offer supportive tools—like grounding strategies and evidence-based approaches—to help you feel more in control.

  • I can refer you to a trusted psychiatrist or prescribing provider. While I don’t prescribe medication myself, I’m happy to collaborate with your prescriber to ensure your care feels supportive and aligned. Therapy and medication can work hand-in-hand.
