Texas Therapist For Anxiety, Recovery & More

Meet Bridey

Therapy with me is a warm, authentic, grounding space where you don’t have to perform, fix, or hold it all together.

Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating or clinical.

We will slow down, get curious about your story, and start untangling the patterns that no longer serve you—so you can reconnect with who you truly are.

I believe therapy is your journey, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and clinical skill.

We will meet once a week to begin your journey to living fully.

In session, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface and build practical tools to help you move forward—feeling more connected to yourself, your choices, and your life.

Who am I?

I am a native Houstonian with a deep connection to my Texas roots! My logo resembling a bluebonnet is a tribute to my grandmother who had a love for Texas wildflowers and animals. I have a passion for mental health and helping others find their identity amidst the chaos of life.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Edward’s University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. I have experience working in both outpatient and inpatient substance abuse treatment settings, supporting adults at various stages of recovery.

My own recovery journey shaped my compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and deepened my understanding of substance abuse as a coping strategy rooted in pain, not weakness.

My interests include the Enneagram, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, recovery literature, and spiritual growth. I am happy to include those in our sessions if it interests you!  My hobbies include pilates, spending time with friends and family, watching football, and spending time with Rooster, my dog, and Cowboy, my cat.

I became a therapist because I know how impactful the journey can be.

Through my own recovery journey and search for identity, I often felt unseen or misunderstood. Therapy eventually became a space where I could show up fully—without performing, hiding, or explaining myself. That experience shaped how I practice today.

I value authenticity, individuality, and creating a space where clients feel safe to explore who they are. I’m here to support others in reconnecting with themselves and untangling obstacles that stand in the way of a fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

  • This approach explores how early family dynamics and unconscious patterns shape your current thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we increase awareness of the “why” behind your reactions, helping you reconnect with your core self. Personal growth becomes about reclaiming your story and discovering who you are—beyond roles, expectations, or survival strategies.

  • CBT helps you notice the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When patterns like self-criticism, catastrophizing, or other negative beliefs take over, CBT provides structured tools to challenge and shift them. It’s practical and goal-oriented, helping you create more balanced thinking and healthier behaviors in everyday life.

  • ACT helps you stop fighting your inner experience and start building a life rooted in your values. Instead of avoiding difficult thoughts or emotions, you’ll learn to accept them as part of being human—without letting them control your behavior. Through mindfulness, emotional flexibility, and value-based action, ACT supports lasting change even in the face of discomfort.

  • EFT helps you make sense of your emotional world and understand how past experiences may be shaping your present reactions. Together, we explore the deeper emotions beneath anxiety, shutdown, or self-criticism—often rooted in unmet attachment needs. As you learn to identify, express, and respond to your emotions with more compassion, you begin to shift long-standing patterns and create more secure, connected relationships—with others and with yourself.

  • I also offer FOO Mapping©, an 8-week journey designed to help you identify and shift patterns rooted in your family of origin. Family of Origin Mapping is a guided process where we explore the key relationships and events from your childhood through early adulthood that helped shape how you think, feel, and relate today. Drawing from attachment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and emotion-focused therapy, this work helps us understand how your brain adapted to your early environment. We will uncover core beliefs you may have carried for years, notice what triggers your “FOO button,” and begin shifting the patterns that no longer serve you.
